    How this list is made

The weather items come from the Korea Meteorological Administration's 1991–2020 averages for Seoul. Busan and Jeju are a few degrees milder in winter. Real days can be much hotter or colder than the average, so check the forecast a few days before you fly.

    Questions people ask

Is the list the same for Busan and Jeju?

Roughly, but both are milder than Seoul in winter, so you may need one layer less from December to February. Summer is similarly hot and humid across the country.

Why do you suggest slip-on shoes?

In Korea you take your shoes off in homes, some restaurants with floor seating, temple halls and traditional guesthouses. Shoes that are quick to take off and put on make those moments easier.

Do I really need a mask in spring?

Spring can bring yellow dust and fine dust days, when many locals wear masks outdoors. It is worth packing a few, especially if you are sensitive to air quality; they are also sold in convenience stores.
